About Us

Conquest Publishers produces books and manuals of interest to those who wish to live an active, vibrant Christian lifestyle. The company has its origins dating back to 1998, as an imprint of a non-profit organization that provided instructional books and manuals. Its first publication was Equipping Your Church to Minister to Ex-Offenders, a manual designed to assist churches and church leaders in establishing or operating post-prison ministries. Due to the success of this publication, another publication was added: Help! My Loved One is in Prison, a manual providing information on successful reentry to family members and friends of loved ones in prison who will eventually be released. Three other publications followed, for a total of five publications as of December 2008.

In 2008, Conquest Books entered the literary marketplace with its first Christian fiction offering, Prodigal in the City. This full length novel is heavily based on the author's experiences in helping ex-prisoners to reenter society. Other fiction offerings are planned, as well as non-fiction. In December 2007, the publishing company was placed under a separate for-profit limited liability corporation, Conquest Enterprises LLC.

Conquest Publishers is headed by Louis N Jones, an author and publisher with over 20 years experience. Mr. Jones' first publishing experience was in 1988, when he published a book of poetry entitled "Changed: Moments of Poetic Testimony" by Deborah Haley. Jones has worked with Heldref Publications in Washington, DC and Jazztimes Magazine in Silver Spring, Maryland, using these opportunities to hone his publishing experience. Jones also has a strong knowledge of information technology and desktop publishing, and served 13 years as an IT consultant and engineer with the United States Postal Service, writing and designing technical manuals and performing desktop publishing. In 2008 Mr. Jones published his first novel entitled "Prodigal in the City." The novel has won rave reviews from readers for its strong plot and its message of faith, redemption and hope. He is currently working on a second novel, which will be published in June 2009. Mr. Jones has also written operating procedures and policies for several non-profit organizations in the D.C. area. Jones is an ordained minister and serves at Christian Conquest Fellowship in Washington, DC.
